A referral from a child psychiatrist is required who is willing to take the patient back upon discharge. The decision for acceptance is based on capacity and commitment of the family to benefit from the program and a common treatment goal has been identified.
Ambulatory services for children (aged 5 – 12) with a variety of mental health conditions. Access to specific services is determined by presenting concerns and interventions most appropriate to treat. Day Treatment Programs are ambulatory services for children (aged 5 – 12) with a variety of mental health conditions. Access to specific services is determined by presenting concerns and interventions most appropriate to treat. The program follows the EDPB calendar and is closed on non-education days. Children must be able to travel to and from school/program by bus or caregiver transportation.
Services available include:
• Assessment classroom (3 week duration) Clarification of diagnosis or treatment
• Day Treatment Program (12 week duration) Rehabilitative mental health therapy
• Cognitive Health Intervention/School Program (CHIP) – The CHIP program is intended for children who present with complex symptoms and lack a clear diagnosis. The length of stay is individualized per assessed need.
