Admission typically follows inpatient admission at the Royal Alexandra Hospital

Description of Service

Children (aged 5-12) with a variety of emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric concerns are admitted to this 11-bed inpatient unit. Admission usually occurs following an intensive assessment at the inpatient child acute care program (Royal Alexandra Hospital). Patients attending this program may be offered transitional inpatient/day treatment service. Patients attend their programs from Sunday afternoon till Friday afternoon, retuning home on the weekends. Patients attend school as part of their treatment. The average length of stay is 3-4 months.
